Floria serves on Ability Employers, and Fostering Private Sector Growth Task Force, and is co-chair of Partners for Human Rights.

Creating the life, I want with joy is success to me! I have researched, studied, and practiced Growth Mindset and Mindfulness for over 3 decades.
I love life and see HUGE potential. I am an expert in creating new habits to support where we want to be. I am hooked on being happy and enjoying the journey rather suffering through. Status quo is not an option. Don’t let your past dictate your future!
Stay visionary and focusing on what you want rather than how things have always been. Spreading joy and teaching happiness at the workplace, in business or life is one of my biggest passions. What I do, is who I am. 😊

What are you most proud of professionally? And who or why?
I believe if we continue doing things the way we have always done, we will get the same results without real progress. I am proud of myself for always seeing positive in every situation and being devoted to enjoying the journey!
I am very proud of my dance career in Halifax. I have taught Classical Persian over 25 years to children and adults. I had a dance troupe of 5-8 fabulous Canadian women who performed with me. I have offered dance workshops at most library branches in Halifax to groups of over 80 aging 2-85. I choreographed shows and have performed at charity fund raising events such as Dance NS, Liver Foundation.
I am passionate about dancing and have tried many forms of dance from Celtic and Irish to country line and square dancing. I love most Ballroom and Latin dances from Argentine Tango, Salsa, Bachata, Waltz, Cha Cha, Jive, East Coast Swing, Blues, and 50’s 60’s Rock & Roll. Many have fondly said, I live to dance with record of 8 hours dancing!!
What’s your vision for Atlantic Canada in 10 years? What’s our biggest opportunity now?
We have huge potential in Atlantic Canada, to grow exponentially. We can do this by being bold, confident, and dare to be different than we have been. We can build on our incredible strengths, talents, and skills. We need to do things differently, take chances and risks for growth. We need to be bold. We need to create a shift in mindset and attitude. We need to stop accepting ‘we are a have not region’. Instead, we need to believe ‘we are a rich region with incredible potential to actualize’.

Growth Mindset, practicing Mindfulness, ‘Believe it then you see it’ by Wayne Dyer, Attitude of Leadership, Taking responsibility for my life, Believing I can do or have anything I want. :)
What was your greatest stage of growth? What made it a shift for you?
In my teens! As a teenager, I moved to South of India with my parents and younger sister after my father retired working in the cigarette factory. There I became responsible for my family, because I was the oldest and learned English quickly.
As a teenager, I got visas, looked after all legal work, negotiated rent, bought furniture, took my parents to doctor appointments and went to my sister’s parent teacher interviews. I would not have had this incredible opportunity back in Tehran, Iran, where my parents would have looked after all of this.
I learned sooo much during the 5 years that I lived there. I learned the art of negotiation, dealing with government and legal officials, filling our numerous applications and paperwork, and take responsibility, to ensure well being for my family.
What’s your deepest learning from this past year? How did/will you apply it?

Who’s inspired you, directly or indirectly? How have they inspired you?
My sons, Albert Einstein, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Nelson Mandela, My parents & sisters, Gandhi, so many colleagues, clients, friends, associates and others. Believing in happiness, inspiring to grow, it is possible to enjoy the journey, being self-aware, self-acceptance/appreciation!
What would you have done differently?
Nothing. I love my life, who I am, what I do, and where I am in my life. I love looking ahead. I am sooo incredibly happy and filled with joy!!
What are the principles you live by?
Focused on being happy.
Believing life can be simple and we can enjoy the journey. It’s up to me!
Looking for positive in every situation.
Being present and enjoying the Now.
The most important relationship is the one we have with our self. Invest in it to see amazing benefits.
Learning to interject humour in everything I do.
