I am a Wish Kid, Legally Blind, a Para-Athlete, I am Brenda MacDonald Lona.
I don’t let anyone or my disability define me or hold me back from going after my goals.
I’ve been slowly losing my eyesight since a young age, and now I’m legally blind. But losing my eyesight has not stopped me form doing whatever it is that I want to do. I believe that, instead, it has given me opportunities – in the past, present and future.
What's your vision for Atlantic Canada in 10 years? What’s our biggest opportunity now?
To make Atlantic Canada accessible to everyone who has a different abilities. Our biggest opportunity is to start informing and making it known to other that accessibility is important.

Helen Keller inspired me to live life and to not take for granted what I have
