What are you most proud of professionally? And who or why?
I am most proud of getting accepted into the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and excited for this journey!
What’s your vision for Atlantic Canada in 10 years? What’s our biggest opportunity now?
My vision for Atlantic Canada is for it to be the place everyone wants to live and that we see more women (especially women of colour) in powerful roles.
What was your greatest stage of growth? What made it a shift for you? (Don’t like going into details regarding this)
My biggest stage of growth was when I put my health and fitness first which led to my mind thinking more clearly about life overall. This shift occurred once I lost a loved one suddenly. Once I realized I was strong physically it transferred to becoming mentally stronger as well.
What’s your favourite or most read book or podcast? Now or at each of your greatest stages of growth?
Being a law student I sadly don’t have much time to leisurely read as much as I’d like! I am open to all book recommendations :)
What’s your deepest learning from this past year? How did/will you apply it?
My deepest learning this past year is to not take your time with your loved ones for granted and to make sure I am fully there when I am spending time with my family and friends.
Who’s inspired you, directly or indirectly? How have they inspired you?
My mother and my family are my inspirations. They have shown me that hard work is needed to get what you need and want. Also that nobody will hand you opportunities, you need to go after and work towards it on your own.
What would you have done differently?
I would have put myself first sooner.
What motivated you to make the choices you’ve made?
Do things that make you feel uncomfortable and do not be afraid to fail because that is when we grow.
